Placement DiscussionBefore Holtz Educational Center is involved, the student's IEP team typically has a meeting to discuss placement. Prior to sharing a child's records with another school, parents must give written permission for the district to share their child's IEP and/or any other information.

Contacting HoltzPotential referrals: District representatives usually contact Holtz Educational Center to share the student's information and inquire about possible openings. At this time, Holtz requests the student's most recent IEP and evaluations for review. Holtz currently only accepts students placed through their school districts as part of the IEP process, but parents are always welcome to contact us at any time with any questions that they might have about our program.

Determination of AcceptanceNext, the Holtz team will contact the district regarding whether or not Holtz would be an appropriate placement for the student. Many factors go in to determining acceptance, including but not limited to: the ability of the school to meet the needs outlined in the current IEP, and the availability of space in an appropriate classroom (based on age, skills, and needs).
